MEME Suite 4.11.2 Patches

This file gives notes and installation instructions for patches of the MEME Suite version 4.11.2. For new installations you can skip the patching steps by using the pre-patched distribution.

The patches should always be installed in order because later patches may depend on changes made in earlier patches.

If you're patching a completely unpatched MEME install then all the patches can be installed by:

1. Downloading all the patch files (linked above) to the root of the MEME Suite source distribution
2. Changing your working directory to the root of the MEME Suite source distribution
3. Running the command patch -p0 -i patch_4.11.2_1 patch -p0 -i patch_4.11.2_2
4. If nothing went wrong then install the changes with the command make install

Patch 1

This patch fixes the following:

• MCAST prematurely truncated reading the sequence file.
• If MEME was run using a DNA or custom alphabet using the dmix, mega, or megap priors but without providing a prior library, it would print an error message and terminate. Now MEME will fall back to a simple Dirichlet prior.

Patch 2

This patch fixes the following:

• Fixed bug in handling of RNA-like custom alphabets.
• Fixed bug in MAST -comp option.
